Hoddlesden Millennium Green

Design and community consultation to develop a Millennium Green Site Preparation Plan for the Countryside Agency, Process involved door-to-door interviewing and questionnaires, public meetings, the creation of a steering group and a Planning for Real exercise. Initial desk top site investigation and local knowledge revealed that the site covered a 19th century culverted stream, a capped mineshaft, railway sidings and a clay pipe works. Commissioned a Geotechnical Survey to ascertain potential liabilities concerning stability and contamination. The design had to take into account many constraints, as well as a difficult brief from the Steering Group.
